The
LAT's description of Mitt Romney's speech yesterday in College Station, Texas doesn't describe the actual words of the speech or the apparent meaning of those words in any adequate way. It does, however, include quotes from people the LAT chose, apparently because they reflected poorly on the speech.
In truth, the speech was extremely well written and at times was elegant. Romney deserves credit for the quality of the speech but he will not get it from the LAT.
Separately, the LAT attempts to explain the Mormon faith and how it differs from Christianity. The explanation does not enlighten much.
